My Simple Skincare Regimen

My friend was kind enough to share her beloved dermatologist’s skincare recommendations which I have since adopted. Skincare doesn’t need to be expensive for it to be effective! I am passing along her simple wisdom.

Her dermatologist emphasizes…

  1. Expensive face cream will never deliver on what they promise, so there’s no need to spend excessively on these types of offerings. It’s all marketing to get folks to purchase products.
  2. If you have wrinkles that bother you, lotion won’t help. Botox will.

A simple skincare routine

Daily

Morning:

  1. Wash face with a gentle facewash
  2. [Optional] Apply a few drops of hyaluronic acid to damp skin to help keep moisture in your skin
  3. Apply moisturizer and let it absorb
  4. Then apply sunscreen

Evening:

  1. Remove makeup with micellar water (gentle)
  2. Wash face with a gentle facewash
  3. Pat skin dry
  4. Apply moisturizer
  5. [Optional for once or twice a week] Apply a small amount of retinol to help with skin texture in general; you need to develop a tolerance to it or you will experience redness and flakiness

Weekly:

Once a week use an AHA peeling solution after washing your face. Leave it on for 8 minutes and then wash it off and apply moisturizer.
